Can Cartier, Tiffany, or Van Cleef Jewelry Be Repaired Locally?
Yes — and in most cases, you don't need to send it back to the brand.
Sending a piece back to Cartier or Tiffany for repair typically means 6–10 weeks of wait time, shipping your jewelry across the country, and paying brand-name pricing. For most repairs — ring sizing, prong retipping, chain soldering, clasp replacement — a skilled independent jeweler can do the same work for less, faster, and with your piece never leaving your city.
What to look for in a jeweler working on luxury pieces:
In-house work only. Never let a jeweler send your Cartier ring to a third-party shop. Ask directly: "Do you do this work on-site?"
Experience with the specific metal. Cartier uses 18k gold and platinum. Van Cleef pieces often have pavé settings that require a steady hand. Ask about their experience.
Before-and-after documentation. A professional shop photographs pieces on arrival and at completion.
At Facets Fine Jewelry, all repairs are done in-house by our bench jewelers. We work on Cartier, Tiffany, Van Cleef, Bulgari, and all fine jewelry designers. We photograph every piece when it arrives and when it's ready for pickup.
